Dr Helene Lavoix is the founder of The Red Team Analysis Society and a political scientist (International Relations) specialised in Strategic Foresight and Warning (SF&W) for conventional and unconventional security issues. The Red Team Analysis Society provides futures-orientated analyses for all actors, on national security issues, be they conventional – from war to terrorism through energy security – or not – for example climate change and extreme environments or new technologies. RTAS’ work ranges from horizon scanning and monitoring to scenario building and scenario analysis, from modeling to strategic warning. It also offers commissioned studies on specific topics and online and onsite training.

As expert and consultant, for example in 2022, Dr Lavoix researched and wrote an in-depth report on Ukraine for the UN OCHA.

Dr Lavoix trains high level decision-makers in executive courses she specifically designs according to needs and teaches Strategic Foresight and Warning in universities, at Master level. For example, since 2020, within the framework of a European Program (EU / Civipol – LCTT2 then READ) she trains and supports high-level officers in Early Warning for the Ecole Supérieure des Forces de Sécurité Intérieure (ESFSI) of the Home Ministry of Tunisia, for the Pôle Sécuritaire de lutte contre le terrorisme et le crime organisé of the Home Ministry, as well as for the Institute of Leadership of the ENA Tunis. Formerly, she taught at Sciences-Po-PSIA (2015-2021) and at RSIS Singapore (2010 and 2011). Other training engagement included Vesalius College Brussels, 2013-2020, Geneva Centre for Security Policy, 2015, etc.

She has notably been the coordinator of the Strategic Foresight and Warning Community of Interest of the Global Futures Forum (2013-2007), an independent consultant and contractor on SF&W, with as notable clients and contractants the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Energy on global environmental change (2008-2009), and the Agence Française de Development, an analyst for the European Commission, the head of the Cambodian office of an NGO, and prior to that, worked in finance, as a treasurer.

From 2018 to 2020, she has been a member of the group “GAFAM, BAITX and regulation” within the “on invitation only” Agora-41 of the Agence Nationale de la Sécurité des Systèmes d’Information (ANSSI – French National CybersecurityAgency).

He is specialised in strategic studies and defense sociology, and more particularly in environmental geostrategy. He is the author of Menaces climatiques sur l’ordre mondial (Climatic threat on the world order), Ecologie et gouvernance mondiale (Ecology and world governance), Guerre et Nature, l’Amérique prépare la guerre du climat (War and nature: America gets ready for climate war), and of Hollywood, the Pentagon and Washington: The Movies and National Security from World War II to the Present Day, Géopolitique d’une planète déréglée (2017, republished April 2022). A graduate of the famous Art School Penninghen and also Senior Art Director and also Illustrator, Concept Artist, Author, Scriptwriter, Game Designer, Narrative Designer, Ludographer and Typographer, Jean-Dominique is a passionate, extremely imaginative, yet incredibly rigorous art director. Furthermore, he always shows a fantastic creative problem-solving ability, whatever our sometimes impractical wishes. He also understands best UX. To have him on our team is such an amazing asset for the Red Team Analysis Society.

Jon moved on with his career in the U.S. and we kept excellent relationships. We are glad that his time with RTAS was a springboard for a a brilliant, reliable and hard working person.

Jon Mitchell (MA) – Analyst – Middle East, focus Libya.

Jon is an independent researcher and writer with an MA in Public Policy – Middle East Affairs from Liberty University, U.S. He has contributed to a political-economic analysis report for a non-profit international organization, compiled an unofficial analysis report on Boko Haram for a U.S. Congressional Committee, and writes articles for Foreign Policy Journal. While interning with the Hudson Institute, he researched critical regional security issues and analyzed complex international challenges in their Center for Political-Military Analysis.
