Etienne Dubern is the CEO of Boislandry consulting, specialised in intelligence analysis with a focus on Africa and the Balkans. He founded Boislandry in 2010 after having co-founded and co-directed Amarante Risk Intelligence, the Amarante International’s subsidiary dedicated to security, political risk analysis and business intelligence between 2008 and 2010.
Etienne Dubern is a former senior analyst and diplomat for the French government where he served between 1992 and 2008. With the Ministry of Defense, he was successively counter-terrorism analyst, Manager of Analytical Unit and Advisor to the Director of Strategy. With the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he served in the Liaison Office of France with Kosovo before to be appointed as First Secretary in the French Embassy in Croatia.
A reserve Lt-colonel of the French Armed Forces, he teaches international relations at Master level at the Institut d’Etudes politiques of Aix-en-Provence in France, is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) and also a farmer and forester in Provence. He holds a Bachelor in Public Service and a Master in Military History and National Defense (Honours) of the Institut d’Etudes politiques of Aix-en-Provence.
