Course 1, from Process of Strategic Foresight to Analytical Modeling, explains the process of strategic foresight and early warning and gives you the analytical model — the validated causal map of your issue, built step by step.
With this first course, you will find out about the process of anticipation and its various methodologies, from strategic foresight and warning, early warning, to risk management. Then you will see in detail the various biases we need to mitigate and strategies to overcome them and learn about the importance of models in analysis. You will learn to create, step by step, practically with examples and exercises, the model or mapping for your issue or risk. You will thus learn to identify all the drivers, factors and actors for your issue or risk and to link them. As a result, you will thus have mastered the core of most if not all foresight methodologies. And you will be fully ready for the second programme.
Course 2, scenario-building or scenario analysis for strategic foresight and risk management, takes the model and turns it into a full set of actionable scenarios, ready to inform decisions.
With the second course, you will learn how to build top of the range actionable scenarios and to communicate them to decision-makers. You will move from scenario fundamentals and guiding principles through selection of key variables to developing scenario branches to obtain a set of scenarios. You will also learn to find indicators and to assess the probability for each scenario.
Taken in sequence, the two courses form one continuous, self-contained skillset for anticipating geopolitical risk and crisis.

Do I have to take the courses in a specific order?
Course 1 (Analytical Model) should be taken first. The scenario-tree you build in Course 2 is developed directly from the model you learn to build in Course 1, so completing them in that order gives a coherent learning path. As both courses are available to you immediately upon enrolment, you can pace yourself as needed within the year of access.
How much time should I plan overall?
Plan for roughly 7–8 hours per week across the two courses’ combined 26 weeks of content (12 weeks for Course 1, 14 for Course 2), plus additional time applying the material to your own issue of choice. Full detail on the weekly pace for each course is available on their individual pages: course 1 and course 2.
What if I need more than a year to complete both courses?
A monthly extension is available for the bundle if you need additional time beyond the year of access. Contact us for details.
Can I register a group for the bundle?
Yes — contact us for group pricing. For organisations wishing to combine enrolment with live tutoring, note that for reasons of confidentiality we do not mix participants from different organisations in the same tutoring group.
Is live tutoring available in addition to the bundle?
